Synopsis

Da-in Kim arrives at Myeongmun University with a carefully planned picture of the ideal freshman year: excellent grades, good friends, and perhaps a handsome boyfriend. Meeting Da-in Kang, a classmate who shares her name but seems to possess the beauty and ease she wants, unsettles that picture. Then Su-hyeon Cha rejects her in favor of the other Da-in. As college life draws her into new friendships and rivalries, she must reckon with how much of her dream was really her own.

Story profile
★ My Take

This works best as a college ensemble story about how people measure themselves against one another. Da-in's embarrassment after being compared with her namesake gives the drama a pointed, uncomfortable start, while the wider cast makes the question of perfection feel less one-sided. The warm, expressive art helps the quieter emotional moments land. Readers expecting a straightforward couple-centered romance may be surprised by how much space the story gives to friendship and personal growth.

✓ Why you'd like it

The shared-name setup makes Da-in's insecurity unusually tangible: every encounter with her seemingly effortless classmate invites another comparison. Watching the students reveal the work and worry beneath their polished appearances gives the campus setting more to explore than crushes and grades alone.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The public rejection and repeated appearance comparisons can be uncomfortable, especially if you prefer gentle, affirming campus stories. Several characters' feelings and motives take time to become clear, so readers looking for an immediately defined romantic pairing may find the early chapters frustrating.
