Synopsis

An exhausted gamer dies and awakens inside a game, already trapped in a boss dungeon with no obvious way to survive. Thinking quickly, he persuades the Demon King that he is a long-lost son. The deception saves him from immediate death but puts him through punishing training under a monstrous new father. As he becomes stronger and is sent beyond the dungeon, the relationship that began as a desperate lie becomes part of a larger struggle over the game’s world.

Story profile
★ My Take

The opening survival lie is an entertaining reversal of the usual hero-versus-demon arrangement. Instead of arriving with effortless dominance, the protagonist must endure the creature he has persuaded to protect him. The compact completed run is attractive, although the brutal training premise and relatively limited independent criticism make this a cautious recommendation; the story and art scores are provisional editorial estimates.

✓ Why you'd like it

The hero’s first useful skill is recognizing what a dangerous opponent wants to hear. That gives the action a different starting point from simple statistical superiority, while the strange mentor relationship provides a reason to care about monsters who would normally function only as obstacles.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The Demon King’s training is harsh, with violence and disturbing creature imagery accompanying the humor. English editions package the material differently: INKR lists 66 chapters, while Tapas lists 64 episodes. Romance is not a substantial focus and has been left unscored.
