Synopsis

For centuries, the sentient sword Gruhorn has helped warriors become legends while remaining the weapon in someone else’s hand. His latest owner is a spoiled first prince descended from an earlier hero, hardly the companion he hoped for. When an accident transfers Gruhorn into the prince’s body, inherited privilege comes with an embarrassing reputation and a body that needs work. The former blade now has a chance to put his hard-earned knowledge into practice and become a hero himself.

Story profile
★ My Take

The opening looks like a familiar disgraced-noble rehabilitation story, but Gruhorn’s history gives his confidence a convincing foundation. Reader reviews increasingly praise the supporting characters and growth beyond the early setup, while responses to the artwork are more divided. This seems strongest when experience must become discipline rather than effortless victory; the initial makeover material can still feel conventional.

✓ Why you'd like it

Gruhorn has spent ages helping other people earn the glory, so taking responsibility for his own life has a satisfying change of perspective. His certainty can be entertaining, especially when the gap between remembered expertise and his present circumstances demands more effort than he expects.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The early chapters spend time rebuilding the prince’s physique and reputation, which can resemble other noble-body possession stories before the cast develops. The hero’s abrasive confidence may also wear on readers who prefer a modest lead or immediate emotional vulnerability.
