Synopsis

Lily Roland expects to marry Prince Richard, her childhood sweetheart, until she discovers his affair with her sister. Determined to hide the betrayal, they poison her and abandon her to die. Lily survives after being rescued by Richard’s mysterious uncle, Prince Isaac, who offers an alliance built around revenge. His protection comes with secrets of its own, and Lily must decide how to regain control of her future while becoming involved with another dangerous royal.

Story profile
★ My Take

The betrayal-and-rescue opening gives Lily a clear reason to abandon her former loyalties. Isaac’s secret adds a supernatural complication to an otherwise familiar revenge arrangement. However, early Tapas comments raise concerns about awkward flow and translation, making the execution a less confident recommendation than the premise; the romance works best for readers comfortable with familiar villains and a strongly protective royal lead.

✓ Why you'd like it

Lily’s survival changes who gets to define the aftermath of the attempted murder. The satisfying possibility is not merely finding a different prince, but confronting people who assumed she would disappear without a voice, with Isaac’s resources making that confrontation newly imaginable.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The cheating fiancé and treacherous sister are familiar antagonists, while the rescue places much of Lily’s immediate security in another prince’s hands. Some early English readers report stiff dialogue and awkward transitions, which can reduce the emotional impact of major confrontations.
