Synopsis

Eunha’s fencing background proves useful when she awakens as Selena Evan, a swordsman’s daughter inside a novel. Her family’s safety collapses when her twin brother flees compulsory military service, forcing her to enlist in his place. Exceptional swordsmanship should help her survive, but it also attracts Prince Ignus, the very villain she needs to avoid. Remaining useful without exposing her identity becomes harder as his interest grows increasingly personal.

Story profile
★ My Take

Selena’s sword skills and the prince’s attraction make the disguise setup easy to enjoy at first. The appealing character art gives their banter and uncertainty plenty of charm. The central secret is sustained for so long, though, that repeated evasions can overwhelm her competence and make the romance feel stalled rather than deliciously restrained.

✓ Why you'd like it

The initial tension comes from being recognized for talent while fearing recognition of everything else. Selena cannot simply disappear without risking her relatives, which lends the military assignment personal stakes and turns apparently flattering attention into an uncomfortable practical problem.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The identity reveal requires substantial patience, and Selena’s repeated efforts to avoid discovery can become frustrating. Ignus’s possessiveness also means the attraction is not consistently comfortable, particularly when his rank limits how freely she can refuse him.
