Synopsis

After her husband and best friend betray her, Byeolha Kim awakens as Rose—the doomed heroine of a novel she knows all too well. Her former friend has entered the same world and is stealing Rose's scripted life again, but this time Byeolha is willing to surrender the useless husband, rewrite the plot, and bargain with the formidable Grand Duke Arteum for freedom.

Story profile
★ My Take

The hook is gloriously spiteful: one betrayal was bad enough, so a second chance becomes permission to stop playing nice. Rose's refusal to compete for a terrible man gives the opening real catharsis, and her wary chemistry with Arteum supplies the slow-building romantic reward. The antagonists can feel almost engineered to be hated, but the series understands exactly how to turn that excess into binge-worthy revenge drama.

✓ Why you'd like it

It combines the wish fulfillment of a do-over with the genre awareness of a heroine who knows the narrative is rigged against her. Watching Rose outmaneuver the friend who expects to steal everything again is satisfying, while Arteum offers a much stronger romantic counterweight than the husband she leaves behind.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The cheating husband and former friend are deliberately infuriating and can read as one-note villains. The revenge setup also receives more attention than the romance early on, so readers wanting immediate softness or a nuanced friendship breakup may need patience.
