Synopsis

Cadis Etrama Di Raizel awakens after an 820-year sleep with little understanding of modern society. He quietly enrolls at the high school founded by Frankenstein, his brilliant and fiercely loyal servant, hoping to learn how humans now live. That peace disappears when modified humans and agents of the Union target Rai's new classmates. His reserved manner hides the authority of the Noblesse, a being whose power can overwhelm nearly any opponent. Protecting a small circle of students gradually draws Rai into a sprawling conflict involving noble clans, human experiments, werewolves, and organizations determined to control supernatural power.

Story profile
★ My Take

Noblesse helped establish many pleasures now familiar in Korean action webtoons: the impossibly strong protagonist living under an ordinary identity, escalating organizations, loyal subordinates, and jokes built from a terrifying figure trying to understand everyday life. Rai's stillness works because Frankenstein supplies movement, menace, and extravagant personality. Their relationship anchors a cast that expands from school friends into nobles, warriors, and former enemies. The early school comedy and rescue arcs are charmingly direct, while later seasons become much more battle-heavy. Kwangsu Lee's art improves markedly across the long run, especially in character design and supernatural effects, though repeated confrontations can make the escalation feel formulaic. The series is strongest when Rai's overwhelming power carries a visible cost and when immortals confront the value of fragile human lives. It is not tightly paced, but its found-family loyalty and iconic central duo explain its lasting influence.

✓ Why you'd like it

Rai offers the satisfaction of an overpowered hero without constant boasting; much of his appeal comes from restraint, dignity, and quiet attachment. Frankenstein is an unusually memorable second lead whose loyalty is equal parts touching and alarming. The story also provides a huge supernatural cast, distinct factions, and a complete central journey. Readers who enjoy Eleceed can see an earlier Jeho Son work built around similar contrasts between absurd domestic comedy, mentorship, and dangerous power politics.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

At 544 chapters, the commitment is substantial, and later arcs repeatedly introduce stronger enemies, extended fights, and rescue cycles. Female characters receive less development than the principal male cast, and romance is nearly absent. The early artwork is visibly rougher than the later presentation. Violence, experimentation, and mass casualties also become more prominent as the school-life focus recedes.
