Synopsis

Xiang Xiaoman is set to inherit a martial-arts dojo but wants her crush to see a gentle, conventionally feminine girl instead of a formidable fighter. Transferring schools seems like an opportunity to reinvent herself. Her plan immediately unravels when her fighting ability makes the delinquents admire her as a handsome boy. Even the person she hopes to impress accepts that mistaken identity, leaving Xiaoman caught between her romantic ambitions and the reputation she never wanted.

Story profile
★ My Take

Xiaoman’s competence makes the makeover premise more interesting than simply teaching an awkward girl how to become attractive. The comedy comes from skills she cannot conveniently suppress and a school determined to misunderstand her. The central mix-up also has a clear limitation: its romantic momentum depends on prolonged assumptions about gender, so enjoyment rests on finding that misunderstanding charming rather than exhausting.

✓ Why you'd like it

Xiaoman wants control over how other people see her, yet the traits attracting attention are the ones she hopes to hide. That contradiction gives the comedy an emotional question about whether winning someone’s affection should require treating her own strength as a flaw.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Mistaken gender and rigid ideas about what makes a girl desirable provide much of the comedy. Readers seeking nuanced treatment of gender identity may find the setup simplistic, while those impatient with avoidable misunderstandings may tire of how strongly the romance relies on them.
