Synopsis

Abandoned as a baby, Sirone grows up in a loving family of hunters and develops an intense appetite for books. Learning about magic gives him an ambition his common birth is not supposed to permit. An encounter with a mage reveals that he can enter the spirit zone, opening a path toward formal study. At an academy shaped by privilege and competition, Sirone must turn unusual insight into ability others can no longer dismiss.

Story profile
★ My Take

Sirone’s wonder makes learning magic feel like discovery rather than only acquiring weapons. The attractive art and thoughtful treatment of magical perception give the academy setup a distinctive appeal. Pacing becomes less even as the world expands, and some later detours are more divisive than the focused struggle for recognition that makes the opening engaging.

✓ Why you'd like it

The magic invites the hero to reconsider how he understands space, attention, and possibility. That intellectual curiosity gives study scenes their own excitement, while his supportive upbringing offers a warmer emotional foundation than the isolated revenge motive common to progression fantasies.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Explanations of magical theory and extended school conflicts take time, and later excursions can slow the central progression. Romance is present but not the main reward; readers impatient with student rivalries may prefer to wait until several arcs can be read together.
