Synopsis

Esika has endured mistreatment in her husband’s household because she believes their love makes the suffering bearable. His affair with her closest friend shatters that belief, and a serious incident brings back memories of a previous life. She remembers being the formidable Cheon Yeongryeong and realizes that her current world exists inside a book. With a different understanding of herself and the people around her, Esika abandons appeasement and sets out to make the ducal family answer for its cruelty.

Story profile
★ My Take

The strongest hook is Esika recovering an identity that refuses the submissive role her marriage imposed on her. The opening promises retaliation instead of asking her to keep earning approval from hostile relatives. This is a provisional premise-based take on a new adaptation: early Korean ratings are positive, but detailed comic reviews remain limited, so its revenge payoff and romantic direction are still difficult to assess.

✓ Why you'd like it

If you enjoy the moment a character realizes she no longer needs permission to resist, Esika’s change of perspective offers a clear draw. Her memories make self-recognition part of the comeback, giving the confrontation with her in-laws a personal dimension beyond a list of punishments.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The opening centers on marital betrayal and sustained family mistreatment, so the title’s cheerful wording should not suggest a gentle domestic romance. No official English release was verified; the linked Korean comic is ongoing, while the source novel is a separate completed work.
