Synopsis

Alisia, once feared as the White Night Witch, is reborn as a powerless young princess neglected by her emperor father. When news arrives that he has died in battle, her magic suddenly returns and she prepares to seize control of the unstable empire herself. Her plans collapse when the supposedly dead emperor walks back into the palace. Forced together, father and daughter must navigate old resentment, political schemes, and the uncomfortable realization that their similarities may be exactly why they clash so badly.

Story profile
★ My Take

Like Father, Like Daughter is strongest when Alisia and the emperor bounce off each other as equally stubborn, powerful personalities. Their strained relationship gives the family reconciliation more bite than instant doting-father stories. The magic and succession politics add useful stakes beyond domestic bonding. Romance is secondary, so readers coming for a traditional romantic fantasy may find the father-daughter arc overwhelmingly dominant.

✓ Why you'd like it

Alisia is not a helpless child waiting for her father to save her; she was fully prepared to rule without him. That makes their reconciliation feel like a negotiation between two formidable people rather than a simple rescue-and-adoption fantasy.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The father-daughter relationship and imperial conflict dominate the story, with romance playing a smaller role. Their stubbornness can also make reconciliation intentionally slow and frustrating.
