Synopsis

Renee turns a childhood friendship and unrequited first love into a contract marriage with Alexander, only to spend years beside a husband who keeps his heart sealed. When the arrangement finally reaches its end, a desperate wish introduces a magical chance to confront the feelings, wounds, and choices that made their marriage feel false.

Story profile
★ My Take

KURI's elegant art does a great deal of emotional work: Renee's loneliness is visible even in the most beautiful rooms, and Alexander's restraint reads as both romantic tension and genuine damage. The premise is catnip for readers who enjoy regret and reconciliation, though the story asks for considerable tolerance of silence, assumptions, and a hero whose explanations arrive painfully late.

✓ Why you'd like it

This is a polished feast of yearning for anyone who likes marriages that look finished before the couple has honestly begun. The childhood connection adds weight to every disappointment, and the fantasy device lets the story probe whether love can survive years of emotional distance.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Miscommunication drives much of the conflict, and Alexander's cold treatment can make the romance difficult to root for before his perspective deepens. Season one also ends without resolving the central marriage, so the current hiatus leaves the emotional arc incomplete.
