Synopsis

Roxanna mourned Curtis for years, believing her cruel father had caused her first love's death. When her own noble household falls, she discovers that Curtis survived—and has returned as the warrior responsible for its destruction. The boy she remembers now directs his anger toward her family's crimes. Roxanna retreats to a quiet life in a nunnery, but their eventual reunion brings unfinished vengeance back into focus, forcing her to confront a man whose affection has become inseparable from resentment.

Story profile
★ My Take

The strongest hook is the unfairness of Roxanna becoming the target of a wrong she did not commit. That gives the reunion more emotional weight than a straightforward revenge fantasy, while the polished character art makes the tenderness and hostility feel closely intertwined. I would approach it as painful romantic melodrama rather than satisfying payback. Early impressions are promising, although occasional visual inconsistency and Curtis's cruelty may interrupt the appeal.

✓ Why you'd like it

There is a compelling emotional question beneath every reunion: how much of the person Roxanna loved remains inside the man hurting her now? The story lets affection, guilt, and anger pull against one another, making even a seemingly gentle exchange difficult to take at face value.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Curtis redirects revenge toward Roxanna despite her father's responsibility, so the central relationship can feel punishing rather than romantic. Threats and emotional cruelty are part of the appeal, not incidental obstacles; readers wanting quick accountability or a consistently reassuring partner may struggle.
