Synopsis

Geumja Kim adores Kyle du Vilteon, a minor prince doomed to a tragic fate in her favorite novel. After dying while rereading it, she wakes inside his bedroom and discovers that her beloved fictional character is now very real. Unfortunately, Kyle can hear her thoughts whenever she thinks his name, making private fangirling impossible. Calling herself Joe and finding a place near him, she sets out to prevent his death while struggling to keep her enthusiasm from overwhelming their relationship.

Story profile
★ My Take

Joe’s complete lack of an internal filter produces the expressive comedy readers either love or cannot tolerate. Beneath that excess, Kyle’s insecurity gives her affection an emotional purpose beyond admiring a handsome prince. The romance develops more substance than the opening suggests, but the transition toward heavier conflict and possessiveness divides readers who came primarily for silly, exuberant fangirl antics.

✓ Why you'd like it

Kyle is used to being evaluated for what he can accomplish, so affection that persists outside those expectations has room to matter. Readers who connect with his difficulty accepting love may find a surprisingly vulnerable relationship underneath the embarrassing thoughts, disguises, and comic misunderstandings.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Joe’s intrusive, frequently sexual thoughts can read as harassment rather than harmless fangirling, even within the telepathy gag. Later conflict makes the tone heavier, and Kyle’s possessive behavior has disappointed some readers who preferred the earlier dynamic. Expect substantial embarrassment comedy before the emotional payoff.
