Synopsis

After dying alone from overwork, Selia Welfe awakens in a fantasy world as the head of an unusual detective agency. Her clients are regretful male leads who want her to locate the wives, fiancées, daughters, and heroines who finally ran away from them. Selia uses her knowledge of romance-fantasy conventions to identify each missing woman's story and investigate dangerous clues. Her rule is to avoid becoming involved with the main cast, but rescuing a mysterious black-haired boy threatens that professional distance.

Story profile
★ My Take

This series turns familiar runaway-wife and regretful-husband plots into cases handled by someone standing outside their romances. Selia's genre awareness gives her investigations a satisfying comic logic: a few suspicious details can reveal which melodramatic trope has swallowed a client's household. That structure provides variety while steadily building her agency, employees, and bond with the boy she rescues. Bright, polished artwork keeps the cases approachable even when they involve abandonment or danger, and Selia feels competent without solving everything effortlessly. The larger romance unfolds more slowly than the episodic premise suggests, however, and the transition from protective found-family feelings to romantic interest may be uncomfortable for some readers. Season one ends before every long-term mystery receives a payoff.

✓ Why you'd like it

The detective-agency format lets the story revisit popular romance-fantasy scenarios from a fresh angle: the supposedly secondary professional must determine why a heroine fled and whether the remorseful man deserves help. Selia is observant, practical, and motivated by both survival and pride in her work. The mix of case-solving, workplace comedy, recurring clients, and found-family warmth gives the series more variety than a single palace-courtship plot.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The central relationship begins with Selia rescuing and caring for the male lead while he is younger, then changes after later development; readers sensitive to guardian-to-romance dynamics may dislike that foundation. The comic is also on hiatus after season one, so its broader mysteries and romantic progression remain unfinished in the official English release.
