Synopsis

A novelist awakens as Fiona Green, the villainous mage she condemned to a miserable death in her own story. Abused by her family and sent to the northern battlefield of Heylon, Fiona decides to use her extraordinary magic to survive and help others. Rescuing Siegren, the boy destined to become the male lead, changes their relationship before the original romance can begin. Under Duke Abel's protection, she starts building a life that increasingly refuses to follow the ending she wrote.

★ My Take

Gorgeous artwork and Fiona's bond with Abel are the biggest reasons I'd recommend this. Her magic makes the early battles satisfying, while Siegren's steady affection gives the romance a reassuring warmth. The weaker stretch is Fiona's prolonged insistence on the original plot, which can make an otherwise capable heroine frustratingly oblivious. It's an enjoyable fantasy romance, though the character relationships are more convincing than every turn of the political storyline.

✓ Why you'd like it

Fiona knows the suffering behind this world's villains because she put it there, giving her small acts of protection an extra layer of guilt and responsibility. Watching people she once treated as characters become her family provides a warmer payoff than simply defeating her enemies.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Fiona's overwhelming power reduces uncertainty in some fights, while her reluctance to accept Siegren's feelings stretches the romantic tension. The shift from northern battles to noble politics can also feel less focused, especially when familiar misunderstandings replace decisive action.
