Synopsis

After a lifetime of being exploited for her kindness, Dohee dies and awakens as Deborah Seymour, the feared villainess of a romance novel. Deborah's money and status are enviable, but her scripted future ends in disgrace and exile to a monastery. Determined to make villainy work in her favor, she applies modern mathematics and business sense to magic, money, and high society—and attracts the attention of the equally shrewd Isidore.

Story profile
★ My Take

Deborah is a particularly satisfying isekai lead because her competence has concrete expression: she develops products, prices ideas, and translates mathematical knowledge into magical leverage. The comedy of everyone mistaking her practical self-preservation for terrifying confidence stays fresh, and Sudal's ornate art makes every confrontation look luxurious. The romance takes time to surface, but Isidore works as a true partner because he can match her calculation instead of merely admiring it.

✓ Why you'd like it

It turns villainess survival into a stylish business comedy with genuine problem-solving, a sharp heroine, and one of the genre's prettiest wardrobes. The central couple's mutual respect makes the slow burn worth waiting for.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The entrepreneurial subplots and misunderstandings often take priority over romance, and Deborah's victories can feel unusually convenient. The current seasonal break also leaves the adaptation unfinished.
