Synopsis

After clearing the normal route of an otome game, a neglected young woman wakes inside its brutal hard mode as Penelope Eckhart, the hated villainess. Every romance target can kill her, every affection score begins dangerously low, and she must use her game knowledge to survive long enough to find an ending that lets her escape.

Story profile
★ My Take

Penelope's choices make sense because the story never lets her forget that affection is a survival resource, not a harmless dating score. SUOL's dramatic art heightens every bad ending and charged encounter, while the heroine's distrust keeps even the most romantic routes psychologically tense.

✓ Why you'd like it

It turns otome-game mechanics into real danger, gives its heroine sharp survival instincts, features memorable morally gray love interests, and maintains unusually strong tension across a long story.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Nearly every relationship begins from abuse, fear, or unequal power, and Penelope can seem emotionally distant because she views the people around her as dangerous game characters for much of the story.
