Synopsis

When strange objects threaten humanity, a Korean high-school class is mobilized into military service. Students who should be worrying about exams must learn to handle weapons and follow orders against an enemy they barely understand. Familiar classroom rivalries survive inside the new platoon, but the consequences are suddenly lethal. Their attempt to remain ordinary teenagers collides with a system demanding courage, obedience, and sacrifice from people who never chose to become soldiers.

Story profile
★ My Take

The ordinary classroom personalities make the military premise more affecting than its monsters alone could. Humor and awkward teenage behavior remain present even as the danger becomes real. Its loose drawing style supports that vulnerability, though the ensemble can initially be hard to track and the bleakness offers little relief for readers seeking heroic spectacle.

✓ Why you'd like it

The contrast between school routines and military demands gives small interactions a sharp edge. A familiar joke or petty disagreement can reveal how unprepared the students are, making their developing reliance on one another more moving than a polished team of professional fighters.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The story places inexperienced teenagers in lethal situations and does not protect everyone from the consequences. Its rough visual style and large class roster may take adjustment, and the emphasis on loss can outweigh the excitement of fighting an unfamiliar enemy.
