Synopsis

Ten years after high school, Hayoung still carries regret over Jaehyun, the boy she loved and lost in a fatal accident. An unexpected event sends her back into her teenage body before his death. She believes the impossible second chance has one purpose: change the circumstances and save him. Returning also places her beside people whose feelings and futures she never understood the first time, including devoted friend Jueun. As Hayoung alters small choices, she learns that knowing a tragedy will happen does not reveal why it happened—or guarantee that love gives her the right answer.

Story profile
★ My Take

Back to You treats time travel as an emotional burden rather than a wish-fulfillment shortcut. Hayoung returns with adult regret but must operate inside teenage relationships, where incomplete information once shaped everyone. Her determination to save Jaehyun is sympathetic, yet the story gradually asks whether she loves the real person or the memory built around his death. The triangle gains weight because the second connection is rooted in present attention rather than destiny. Honey B's art is restrained and effective with quiet expressions, rainy streets, and the ache of missed timing. The pacing can be slow, especially when characters delay painful conversations, but that hesitation fits a story about people trapped by what they cannot say. The ending may divide romance-first readers, though it follows the narrative's larger concern with grief and agency. This is less about winning a past love than understanding what a second chance can—and cannot—repair.

✓ Why you'd like it

The series offers a genuinely emotional use of time travel, where foreknowledge creates responsibility instead of effortless advantage. Hayoung's choices affect friendships as much as romance, and the mystery behind Jaehyun's fate sustains tension. Readers who appreciate bittersweet stories will find the completed arc thoughtful and cathartic. It is especially strong when showing that moving forward does not require forgetting the person who shaped you.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The story is heavy with grief, death, and suicidal themes. Communication delays and romantic indecision can feel frustrating, and readers committed to one pairing may dislike the direction of the ending. Time-travel mechanics remain secondary to emotion, so not every causal question receives a detailed answer. The slow, reflective middle may also disappoint readers expecting a fast rescue thriller.
