Synopsis

Janet and Rihanel once loved each other, but her imprisonment for burning down his childhood chapel has left their engagement hollow. Financial interests keep them tied together after her release. Rihanel agrees to proceed with marriage only if Janet permits him to wound her ten times. His demand conceals a supernatural purpose: contact with blood allows him to see memories, and he intends to use that ability to investigate the past she will not explain.

Story profile
★ My Take

Category scores are provisional editorial estimates because manhwa-specific feedback is limited. The memory-reading device gives the damaged engagement a concrete mystery rather than relying only on withheld conversation. It also makes the romantic premise deeply uncomfortable. Any eventual reconciliation needs to carry the weight of the coercion built into its opening.

✓ Why you'd like it

There is an immediate reason to examine each account of the past. The characters' incompatible understanding of the same event creates a puzzle that personal testimony alone cannot easily resolve, giving their interactions consequences beyond whether they admit lingering affection.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Permission to inflict injury is a central marriage condition, so physical coercion is integral to the relationship. Readers who find a cruel partner difficult to accept should not expect the investigative premise to soften that discomfort automatically.
