Synopsis

Only after Empress Elizabeth dies does Emperor Leonhardt begin to understand the pain hidden behind her flawless public image. Remorse leads him to the Witch of the Clock Tower, who grants his request to reverse time. Returning to the period when they first met, Leon resolves to give Elizabeth the happiness he denied her. Yet her childhood has wounds he never understood, and changing their past brings consequences beyond the marriage he hopes to repair.

Story profile
★ My Take

The opening gives regret a practical task: Leon must understand Elizabeth before he can claim to love her better. That focus makes the childhood recovery scenes the most affecting part of the comic. Later political conflict and increasingly elaborate time mechanics dilute the intimate premise, and the ending is a particularly divisive part of the adaptation.

✓ Why you'd like it

Leon’s perspective lets the story examine remorse through action, including attention to Elizabeth’s needs that his first life lacked. The early chapters offer tender moments of discovery as he meets the person behind the perfect empress rather than simply trying to recover his former marriage.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The comic shifts from an intimate recovery story toward heavier political danger and complicated time-related resolutions. Readers drawn mainly to gradual healing may find that change disruptive. The English Tapas and Tappytoon links are novel editions; the primary comic link is Korean.
