Synopsis

Shurya Littenheim, an illegitimate noblewoman who found genuine love only after marrying Grand Duke Kardi Esperand, sacrifices herself when the inherited power consuming Kardi threatens his life. She awakens years in the past before their marriage and decides to choose him again - this time determined to become strong enough to stand beside him and prevent the tragedy that ended their first life together.

Story profile
★ My Take

This is one of those romances that works because the devotion feels earned on both sides. Shurya does not regress to escape Kardi - she runs straight back to him, and the story makes that choice believable by showing how gentle, respectful, and equally devoted he is. The fantasy and court conflicts are comparatively straightforward, but the emotional payoff is consistently strong, making it an especially comforting read for anyone tired of romances built on endless misunderstandings.

✓ Why you'd like it

The biggest appeal is the mutual affection. Shurya is refreshingly proactive about pursuing the man she already loves, while Kardi is the kind of green-flag male lead who actually makes that level of devotion feel deserved. Readers often praise how sweet and reciprocal their relationship is, so it is a strong pick when you want regression without sacrificing warmth, chemistry, and emotional security.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The romance is intentionally soft and affectionate, so readers looking for a highly toxic dynamic, intense enemies-to-lovers friction, or constant plot twists may find it too gentle. Shurya's obvious adoration of Kardi is also a major part of the story, and the political/fantasy conflicts can feel lighter than the relationship-focused chapters.
