Synopsis

Harley Ernst expects marriage to finally take her away from the noble household where she grew up under the constant teasing of three adoptive brothers. Instead, she wakes twenty years in the past as a child again. Knowing exactly how lonely those years became, Harley refuses to repeat them quietly. Her second chance begins with retaliation, but living through childhood again also forces her and the Ernst brothers to confront the grief, resentment, and misunderstandings that shaped their family.

Story profile
★ My Take

Harley Takes the House is strongest when it focuses on grief and the slow repair of a family that never learned how to communicate. Harley's regression gives her more confidence, but it does not magically erase old wounds. The sibling dynamics can be moving and funny, though the eventual romantic direction is divisive because of the family-like upbringing. Readers comfortable with that complication may find the emotional arc rewarding.

✓ Why you'd like it

The regression is used less for revenge than for revisiting painful childhood relationships with adult perspective. Watching Harley and the Ernst brothers gradually understand one another gives familiar second-chance material a stronger family focus.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The later romance involves characters raised together as family, which can be uncomfortable for some readers. The childhood portion is also long, so readers wanting fast romantic development may find the pacing slow.
