Synopsis

Webcomic creator Mai Sohn finally receives a major publishing opportunity just as her girlfriend abruptly ends their relationship. Writing a romance series while heartbroken proves difficult, and inspiration becomes even harder to find around Chungyeon, the neighbor whose inconsistent behavior Mai interprets as possible homophobia. Repeated encounters gradually reveal that Chungyeon's awkwardness has a different cause. As Mai rebuilds her confidence and creative momentum, irritation, friendship, and attraction begin to overlap in unexpectedly tender ways.

Story profile
★ My Take

Ring My Bell works because its central romance grows out of recognizable embarrassment rather than elaborate melodrama. Mai is bruised by her breakup but remains funny and professionally ambitious, while Chungyeon's nervous contradictions create misunderstandings that are more endearing than cruel. Yeongol's expressive faces and clean, bright staging give the comedy an easy rhythm, and the supporting cast makes the college and creative-work setting feel pleasantly lived in. The story also allows Mai to recover an identity beyond her previous relationship. Some conflicts depend on characters delaying obvious conversations, and the later material gives side couples enough attention to interrupt the main pair's momentum. Even so, the emotional payoff is affectionate and satisfying, making this an especially comfortable completed GL read.

✓ Why you'd like it

The series balances romantic awkwardness with genuine recovery after heartbreak. Mai and Chungyeon are charming because neither behaves like a perfectly composed romance lead: they misread signals, panic, apologize, and keep trying. Short comedic beats, supportive friendships, and the webcomic-creator angle keep the story lively while the relationship develops into something reassuringly reciprocal.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Several misunderstandings could be resolved through earlier communication, so readers who dislike avoidance-based romantic conflict may become impatient. The series also shifts attention toward supporting relationships later on, which adds community warmth but can make the main romance feel less focused near the finish.
