Synopsis

Film-club president Seowoo meets the striking, orange-haired Hayoung during a rain-soaked night outside a bar. Their brief encounter becomes harder to dismiss when Hayoung joins the club and begins moving through Seowoo's carefully managed life. As attraction grows, both women must confront old attachments, family pressure, and their different ways of handling vulnerability. The result is a college romance shaped as much by learning to communicate as by falling in love.

Story profile
★ My Take

Blooming Sequence earns affection through small behavioral details: awkward pauses, club activities, quiet acts of care, and conversations in which the characters gradually become more honest. Lee Eul lets Seowoo and Hayoung feel like students with lives beyond the romance, while filmmaking provides a useful language for memory and perspective. The restrained artwork is less glossy than many full-color GL titles, but its expressions and rainy atmosphere suit the story beautifully. Some secondary conflicts resolve abruptly, and readers have reasonably found the final stretch less conclusive than the careful buildup promises. Even with that limitation, the series remains a thoughtful example of college romance driven by emotional maturity rather than endless contrivance.

✓ Why you'd like it

The relationship develops through companionship and difficult honesty, giving its romantic moments a lived-in quality. Film-club life adds texture without overwhelming the couple, and the story treats past relationships and family expectations as emotional realities rather than disposable obstacles. It is especially rewarding for readers who value communication and gradual trust.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The pace is deliberately reflective, with long stretches devoted to internal uncertainty and supporting characters. Several family and side-character threads receive compressed resolutions, so the ending can feel quieter and less comprehensive than the buildup suggests. Readers seeking high drama or a sweeping epilogue may want more payoff.
