Synopsis

Yoon Sora ranks first in her class but can barely hold a conversation without panicking. After lying that she has a boyfriend to impress her classmates, she seeks help from Woo Haena, a fearless upperclassman with poor grades and effortless social confidence. They strike a deal: Haena will coach Sora through dating, while Sora will help Haena qualify for college. Their practical arrangement soon becomes complicated when Sora realizes the person making her heart race is not any prospective boyfriend, but Haena herself.

Story profile
★ My Take

Sora & Haena! makes its familiar honor-student-and-delinquent pairing feel fresh through sheer character energy. Sora's social anxiety produces strong comedy without reducing her to helplessness, and Haena's swagger is balanced by vulnerability about school and her future. Their tutoring bargain creates natural reasons to spend time together, while a colorful supporting cast broadens the story into a lively portrait of teenage friendship and queer self-discovery. Jackbull's expressive, polished art is particularly good at sudden embarrassment and physical comedy. The main drawback is structural: side characters and later conflicts sometimes pull attention away from the central pair, and the ending moves through a painful separation and reconciliation faster than its emotional consequences deserve. The journey remains warm, charming, and easy to binge even when the landing feels compressed.

✓ Why you'd like it

The leads complement each other in ways that extend beyond grades and popularity. Haena helps Sora risk genuine connection, while Sora takes Haena's ambitions seriously when others dismiss her. Their growing attraction is playful, visibly mutual, and surrounded by friendships that make the school setting feel busy and affectionate rather than isolated.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

A late conflict relies on abrupt withdrawal and resolves with limited fallout, so readers may find the ending rushed compared with the careful buildup. The expanding side cast also receives substantial romantic attention, which is enjoyable for ensemble fans but can interrupt Sora and Haena's progression.
