Synopsis

Dinah has endured fourteen lives of exploitation by Lavienne, who uses the true saint’s power for her own benefit. Another return offers little hope until an encounter with Archduke Tersia gives Dinah an unexpected escape from the temple. Adopted into his family and renamed Esther, she must learn how to live somewhere that does not treat her as a resource. Her abuser’s ambitions remain a threat to the fragile safety of this fifteenth chance.

Story profile
★ My Take

The contrast between temple exploitation and the adoptive family’s care gives the healing scenes emotional force. Esther’s hesitancy makes reassurance more meaningful than simple indulgence, and the soft character art helps the household feel inviting. Familiar revenge beats and repeated uncertainty can slow her progress, but the family focus remains the clearest reason to continue.

✓ Why you'd like it

The new household offers ordinary choices to someone whose earlier lives denied her even basic control. Watching Esther test whether kindness is dependable makes small comforts feel earned, while the siblings’ presence helps the rescue grow into an ongoing family relationship.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

The opening includes prolonged child exploitation and a heroine exhausted by repeated deaths. Recovery is gradual, and the antagonistic saint uses familiar jealousy-driven behavior, so readers wanting a quickly confident heroine or unusually complex villain may find the pattern predictable.
