Synopsis

After dying from overwork, a graduate student awakens as seven-year-old Lilith, a minor character in a novel she knows. Her peaceful village life with her loving single father, James Brown, seems safely removed from the original plot. That changes when imperial knights reveal that James is actually Enoch Rubinstein, a legendary warrior who deserted the battlefield to protect her. Drawn toward the capital, Lilith must understand her own potential while preserving the family life they built together.

Story profile
★ My Take

The father-daughter bond gives this fantasy more emotional weight than a purely cute childcare story. Enoch is formidable without becoming distant, while Lilith's adult memories make her active in the family's survival. The later shift toward magic and imperial control broadens the stakes effectively, though it makes the transition from village warmth to political danger feel sudden.

✓ Why you'd like it

Enoch is a loving father from the beginning, so the story spends its energy testing rather than manufacturing that bond. His gentleness contrasts with his fearsome reputation, and Lilith contributes to events instead of simply waiting to be rescued, giving both domestic scenes and magical conflicts purpose.

⚠ What may not be for everyone

Romance stays secondary to childcare, family secrets, and world-building through the available English seasons. Lilith can act overly certain despite incomplete information, and the darker political turn may disappoint readers expecting the cozy village tone to remain dominant.
